What a session looks like

Before anyone comes to your home, here is what a typical week, a typical session and the first month look like with Evergreen Pathways.

A typical session at home

  • Arrival and check-inA short word with you about the morning, then the technician joins your child wherever they are: the rug, the table, the back yard.
  • Play and routines with a purposeThe session runs inside your child's day. Requesting a toy, taking turns, washing hands, getting shoes on. Each goal is practised in the moment it naturally comes up, and data is taken as it happens.
  • Breaks and choicesYour child chooses between activities, takes breaks, and is never forced through a task. Assent is checked throughout.
  • Hand-off to youThe last minutes are for you: what went well, one thing to try before the next visit, and anything you want changed.

The first month

  1. The call. You tell us about your child and we explain coverage, the Center of Excellence step if you have not done it, and where you are on our list.
  2. Coverage check. We confirm your benefits and any authorization steps before anything starts.
  3. Assessment visits. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst interviews you, observes your child at home, measures current skills and studies any challenging behavior. You approve every goal.
  4. Authorization. The plan goes to your insurer. Sessions start when it is approved.
  5. First sessions. The technician and your child get to know each other. The first weeks are about trust and routine, not pushing goals.

What stays constant

  • One child, one therapist in every session.
  • A BCBA overseeing the plan, reviewing data and coaching you.
  • A consistent schedule, with notice of changes.
  • You can pause, change or stop at any time.
